SWEAT TOUR FOREVER.

With Troye Sivan and Charli XCX’s Sweat Tour wrapping up tonight, it’s the perfect time to reflect on one of the most boundary-pushing and culturally significant tours of recent times. (all photos by me)

From the initial rumors of a joint tour to the subtle hints on Coachella Valley billboards, the concept of the Sweat Tour had been lingering for months. Even after its official announcement, it was unclear how Troye Sivan and Charli XCX would pull off a joint tour, something we haven’t seen done successfully in ages. But from the moment the show kicked off in Detroit on September 14th, it immediately secured its place as one of the most iconic tours of the decade.

The tour seamlessly divided both of their discographies, with each artist going back to back in a way that felt perfectly curated throughout the setlist. The pacing of the show was flawless, giving the crowd just enough time to catch their breath between high-energy performances. Every transition felt natural, allowing both Troye and Charli to showcase their own tracks while keeping the momentum going the whole time. The show is a true testament to the level of professionalism and talent the two have, both on and off the stage.

The chemistry between the performers adds so much to the show, naturally showing their love and support for each other’s talent while giving them both time to shine. Even though their sounds have slight differences, they blend their styles perfectly, giving the crowd over an hour of musical perfection. Their connection brings even more to this tour than people usually acknowledge.

The energy in the crowd was something we haven’t seen since pre-COVID tours. Lately, it feels like fewer people are really getting into the music at shows, with more just attending to just stand there and record. The Sweat Tour had the complete opposite energy. From start to finish, Troye and Charli had the entire crowd jumping, dancing, singing, and fully engaged with their hits. Their energy was contagious, letting everyone have the same level of fun they were clearly having up on that stage.

The Sweat Tour was an important reminder of what live music is all about: fun, energy, and connection. Charli and Troye truly set the bar for what a live performance should deliver. The tour not only flawlessly showcased their individual talents but also highlighted the power of their collaboration. The buzz from the Sweat Tour will last long after the final show.
